As the sun crept up over the horizon, flapping wings could be heard as birds began their hunt for the day. A clear, and merciful warning for any bugs nearby to start finding some way to escape, though perhaps it was an act of cruelty to some. After all, the flying beasts were much too quick for some insects, and nature could be quite unkind to the inexperienced. Today, however, luck might’ve been on the bug’s side today. Just as they began circling, one squawked at a frightening sight before scattering away, giving the insects plenty of time to scurry to their hiding spots.
What could’ve possibly scared them so badly? Well, laying on a patch of grass by the foot of one of the many trees that were in the forest laid an Emolga. The Electric Rodent wasn’t exactly a common sight in the Pokemon world, but it was a sight that birds knew well enough to stay clear from. Emolga in particular were known for causing birds and flying types of all types trouble just to get more than their fair share of food.
If only the birds had known this Emolga was… different. Yeah, let’s put it that way.
A breeze from the wind blew the squirrel’s long round ears, and dislodged a leaf from one of its branches, allowing it to slowly flutter down. It eventually made its perch on the squirrel’s nose, though this wouldn’t last long. The Electric-Type scrunched her face before letting out a tiny sneeze, causing her round, black eyes to blink open to a squint before she started trying to push herself up. “...Hm..?” The squirrel scrunched her face a bit before rubbing her nose with the back of her paw while squeezing her eyes shut.
Her paw was out of view before the Emolga could even see it, and she looked at her surroundings, realizing very quickly that she was in a forest of some kind. “...My, what… what a landing…” She rubbed the side of her head as she finally managed to push herself to her feet. Good thing she didn’t step on her skirt again… it had been a nice one, but in a forested area it was of little use. “...My head hurts like crazy…” The little squirrel waited for a moment to allow her head to settle down before a thought set in.
Where was… was… were… the others?
Oof, she really needed to focus. Okay, last she checked she was on a plane headed for… headed for… She shook her head. No good. She couldn’t remember what she was doing before ending up here. Did she remember her name? “Lisa…” She whispered to herself. She… doubted that was the whole thing, but it was good enough to get some help, she supposed. If they needed a last name, well, maybe she could make one up or something.
It was then that she noticed a tree that was close by and an idea struck her… not a good one, but still an idea. “I hate the idea of climbing up this tree with my new skirt,” she grumbled. “But it’s the best chance I have to get a good idea of where I am. Well, better get to it…” The squirrel’s ears lowered a little as she shook her head. “Geez, I hate being by myself…” She felt the urge to say what she needed to say out loud, but talking to no one just made her feel crazy.
Either way, the squirrel began climbing up the tree until she felt she was high enough to know where to go. Turns out, that was the very top! And getting there was… way too easy. In fact, she didn’t realize she had such a talent for climbing. It was almost inhuman! And what was more? It seemed like she wasn’t that far away from civilization! Sure, it didn’t seem all that big, but it was something.
There was just one problem…
…How was she going to get down?
